The BGMRC conducts a weekly 2m net each Sunday night at 2100 hours (9:00 p.m.) local time on the K4SEX 145.13 repeater (with the K4SEX 146.79 repeater as backup if necessary). Formerly the Coweta ARES net, this net is continuing so long as interest remains. In addition to needing volunteers to serve periodically as net control, we need more check-ins and traffic (announcements, whether club-related, general hobby interest, or social in nature) to keep it going.
Our ARES organization is the Fayette-Coweta Amateur Radio Emergency Service, which conducts its weekly net on the KK4GQ 145.21 repeater in conjunction with the Fayette County ARC and other local radio clubs, and is linked to repeaters in Fayette, Coweta and other neighboring counties. The KK4GQ repeater is currently located atop Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville but will soon move to a better location. In the meantime Coweta County hams who are unable to key up the KK4GQ repeater may check in via the N4OME 147.165 repeater in Madras, just north of Newnan. This repeater has a positive offset of 600 KHz, and a 131.8 PL tone. EchoLink users may also check in via KI4NGD-R, node 317195.
Georgia SKYWARN severe weather nets are conducted when there is a threat of severe weather in the state of Georgia. Coweta County hams can hear this net via either the N4OME 147.165 repeater or on EchoLink via KI4NGD-R, node 317195.
